Project Code Name: Free Ride

Who: Lobbying Firm or non-profit.
What: Lobby local or national representatives to enact legislation giving free transit to all transients. No cards, no addresses, no hassle.

The Numbers: 10% of the cost of ground transportation comes from the fare. Charging the poorest of the poor is criminal.

Benefit: Easier mobility within a city. More face-to-face presence of homeless within society which will help de-normalize this phenomenon. Bus riders will want to act more to find stable places for transients (that want them).

To do: research if this has ever been done in a city. If not, sell this idea as a charter one year program to see the effects.
