Power Generating Windows

Dye-sensitized solar cells invented by a chemistry professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, could be used in the production of power generating windows, buildings facades and perhaps even in clothing. These solar cells are made of titanium oxide nanocrystals which have been placed between two glass or plastic plates after they have been coated with light-absorbing dye molecules and have been immersed in an electrolyte solution.
